The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Undergraduate Advising Center serves students who have declared a major, minoring, an interest, or are considering a major, in the College. We assist students with appropriate course selection, fulfilling general education requirements, understanding pre-requisite requirements for their major, creating academic plans, and finding and referring students to other campus resources for their academic success.
Advising is an integral approach in a student’s progression toward graduation. Academic advising helps students to navigate through the rules and regulations of the Institute; helps students stay on track for graduation; disarm the traps of class pre-requisites; guard against students taking additional classes that will cost more money and delay graduation. Any hold will prevent a student from Registering, withdrawing from a class, or making registration changes. Check your Owl Express account to see if you have any holds on your record.
Students with less than 30 credit hours will have a 30-hour hold and must see an advisor to have this hold removed.
All first-year and first-time transfer students must complete “Not Any More,” an online training program to prevent interpersonal violence. Since this program is mandated by the federal government, holds will be placed on all student accounts until they have passed this training course with a score of at least 85%. To complete the training, please visit interpersonalviolenceprevention.kennesaw.edu
